2024 marked the 40th consecutive year of Mike Grisdale and WCBY-AM in Cheboygan, providing over the air play-by-play coverage of Cheboygan High School Football.
Grisdale was honored this past football season for his 40-years of coverage on WCBY-AM by the community, with Cheboygan High School naming the press box at the school’s Western Avenue Football Stadium, in his honor.
Mike Grisdale is a seasoned radio personality in Northern Michigan, renowned for his extensive career in news and sports broadcasting. He has been a prominent figure in the region's media landscape for over four decades.
Grisdale is a regular on Black Diamond Broadcasting’s radio stations throughout northern Michigan, providing news and sports reporting and a voice the community recognizes and respects. But it’s the 40 years of Mike Grisdale calling Cheboygan High School Football games on WCBY-AM that has been most endearing to the Cheboygan and northern Michigan community.
Grisdale himself is an alumnus of Cheboygan High School. Grisdale's dedication to his community has made him a respected and influential figure in Northern Michigan and made WCBY-AM an integral part of the Cheboygan, Michigan infrastructure.
